Nutrition recommendations for adults say you should consume at least 25 grams of fiber each day. That may be easy when you incorporate it into each meal, in particular breakfast. Be sure to check the Nutrition Facts Label for the fiber content of your favorite cereal. Be sure to look for cereals that provide at least five grams of fiber per serving. That gets you 20% of the way to your goal and the day is just beginning! Reading food labels can help you make healthier food choices, but some of the words on the label might need deciphering. Much of the information on food labels is clear - name of the product, amount in the package, quantities of nutrients. Less clear - but equally important - information is often found in the list of ingredients. In sugarless products, you might notice a list of words ending in "ol."
