Benefits of Fish Oil August 13, 2009 Fish oil is not only good for your brain, it is also good for cardiovascular system.  Aging blood vessels are most commonly damaged by inflammation that leads to plaque formation.  Plaques can cause heart attacks, strokes and blockage to arteries in the legs.  The anti-inflammatory effect of fish oil helps to reduce the risk of plaque development in blood vessels.
