Out of Africa… Good Stuff Today I want to tell you about one of the most exciting new "super foods" I've come across in years… It comes from the African plant, Irvingia. Researchers in Cameroon recruited over 100 volunteers for a ten-week clinical trial. Some were healthy, some were overweight, and some were obese. The study strongly suggests that Irvingia promotes significant weight and fat loss. The herb was also shown to maintain healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels and reduce inflammation. Combining this Irvingia with other fat-busting ingredients may be the easiest way to firm up and tone down — without spending hours in the gym or forcing yourself to eat bird food. According to Dr. Al Sears, with Irvingia, "you don't have to count calories. You don't need to exercise. And, it will work even if you don't change your diet at all." You can't beat that for effectiveness!
In 1979, Norman Cousins wrote a groundbreaking book. He claimed the best medicine for his painful arthritis was 10 minutes of hearty laughter every day watching Marx Brothers movies. It gave him two hours of pain-free sleep every night. Thirty years later there's scientific proof that Cousins was right on the money. We now know that laughter improves blood flow to your heart by 50%. It also reduces the risk of blood clots and lowers inflammation. (Cousins' arthritis pain was caused from inflammation.) Laughing is so good for you in fact, that you can now even find Laughter Yoga classes. And the beauty of it is, you don't even need to have a sense of humor or even be happy. Your mind and body will benefit even if you have to "fake it" at first. Even Oprah believes in Laughter Yoga. She says, "It's the perfect way to laugh and get exercise at the same time."
According to Dr. Al Sears, cod liver oil can even help with depression. When depressed patients took a fish oil supplement for 4 months, 64% reported a significant reduction in symptoms. Dr. Sears says fish oil works on depression by introducing omega-3s to brain cells. If you want to get the most out of your cod liver oil, buy a brand that is sold in small dark bottles. It will most likely be fresher. And remember, cod liver oil is not the same as regular fish oil supplements that come from the body of the fish. It has more of the healing vitamins A, D, and K.
It's a fact — the longer you live, the more your sex hormone levels will drop, causing a change in your quality of life and increasing your risk for chronic illnesses. Sex hormones begin to drop at about age 40 in both men and women. This means most of us will live nearly 40 years past the time our hormones start to noticeably decrease. THB's anti-aging expert, Dr. Jim LaValle says to improve your libido and fight the effects of aging, find a doctor who will work with you to balance all your hormone levels, not just the sex hormones. Your doctor also needs to understand all types of testing and know the kind that is right for you. Here's another important tip from Dr. LaValle, "…if you want to maximize the benefit of hormonal replacement, changes in lifestyle will be in order. Eating healthier, getting more sleep, and exercising are essential components to successful hormone management." If you think there's no way your diet contains horse urine, think again. It does if you're taking this… Learn how to protect yourself here.
Avocado contains the "good" kind of fat found in EVOO. These fats are used as building blocks for the protective covering of your neurons. In fact, it's been found that Alzheimer's is linked to low levels of fatty acids in the brain. But that's not all you get with avocado — it's also high in vitamin E, vitamin A and potassium and has powerful antioxidant properties that help slow aging. When you eat avocado regularly you'll get added protection from cancer and heart disease too. Are you a victim of "greenwashing"? You may be if you regularly eat apples, tuna fish, lettuce, eggs, strawberries, chicken, spinach, pork, or peaches. Find out why these foods - and more - aren't as healthful as you think… and what you can do to keep your family safe. Click here now.
Another trait extroverts share? A recent study shows they're not easily stressed. Their brains withstand old age better due to lower levels of stress hormones. Among other assaults on your body, these hormones interfere with brain cell communication. Here's a tip from Jim LaValle on getting your stress levels down. Make sure you are getting enough of the "calming" mineral magnesium. Good sources are green leafy vegetables, wheat germ, and bran. Ready to retire this week, even if your bank account's a bit low? Banish stress for good and enjoy "vacation days" every day for the rest of your life. It's easy. Click here now. |
